5月10日讯，一名以色列官员9日说，在埃及首都开罗举行的加沙地带停火谈判破裂，以军将继续在加沙地带南部城市拉法发动进攻。这名以色列官员告诉记者，以色列代表团当天已离开开罗。该官员没有透露以军是否会将攻势扩大到拉法更多地区。据悉，以色列战时内阁9日夜将召开会议，讨论对拉法发动军事行动问题。记者当天看到，大批以军坦克和装甲车部署在靠近拉法的以色列边境地区。
