Citi partners with Coinbase to explore providing customers with stablecoin payment services

According to Bloomberg, Citigroup and Coinbase Global have announced a partnership to jointly expand digital asset payment capabilities to serve the bank's corporate clients. This is the latest example of Wall Street giants turning to the blockchain space for innovation against the backdrop of regulators' continued warnings about the risks of digital assets for years. The partnership will initially focus on exploring how to simplify the capital conversion process for Citigroup's institutional clients - including the reverse operation of redeeming fiat currencies from cryptocurrencies and buying cryptocurrencies from fiat currencies, and covering cross-border scenarios.
