The three major U.S. stock indexes opened higher

On October 27, U.S. stocks opened, with the Dow up 0.6%, the S & P 500 up 0.9% and the Nasdaq up 1.4%. Technology stocks mostly rose, with NVIDIA (NVDA. O) up 2%, AMD (AMD. O) up 1.3% and Micron Technology (MU. O) up 2%. Precious metals miners fell, Newmont Mining (NEM. N) fell 5% and Barrick Mining (B. N) fell 3%. Nasdaq China Golden Dragon rose 1.7%.
