In a letter on Monday, Tesla (TSLA. O) chairperson Robin Denholm called on shareholders to vote in favor of CEO Elon Musk's nearly $1 trillion compensation package ahead of its annual shareholder meeting. "If we fail to create an environment that incentivizes Elon to achieve greatness through a fair performance-based pay program, we risk his resignation from his executive role and Tesla could lose his time, talent and vision, which are essential to delivering superior shareholder returns." Mr. Denholm said Mr. Musk was critical to the company's future as it worked to move beyond being "just a car company" to focus on fully autonomous driving and the humanoid robot Optimus. Tesla's annual shareholder meeting is scheduled for November 6, and shareholder voting will close at 11:59 p.m. on November 5.
