Mt. Gox, the defunct cryptocurrency exchange, has extended its repayment deadline by another year to October 2026. Mt. Gox's reorganization trustee issued an announcement on Monday saying that it has "substantially completed" the basic, early lump sum and medium-term repayment of all creditors who have successfully completed the repayment eligibility process. However, the announcement said that many creditors have still not received their repayment due to failure to complete the necessary procedures or problems in the process. "In order to make repayment to such reorganization creditors to the extent reasonably practicable, the reorganization trustee, with the permission of the court, has changed the repayment deadline from October 31, 2025 to October 31, 2026." This latest announcement marks the third delay in the defunct exchange's repayment deadline, which was originally scheduled for October 31, 2023.
