International Criminal Police Organisation Arrests 19 Suspects in Africa for Illegal Use of Virtual Assets and Seizes US $260 million in Terrorist Funds

According to Decrypt, the International Criminal Police Organisation and Interpol Africa arrested 83 people in six African countries in a joint operation targeting terrorist financing and its support for illicit activities, 19 of whom were arrested for "illicit use" of virtual assets.
During the two-month operation, authorities in participating countries screened more than 15,000 individuals and entities and found approximately $260 million in fiat and virtual currencies that could be linked to terrorist activities. Approximately $600,000 has been seized and further investigations are underway to trace and recover additional assets.
