In an interview, Tom Lee, chairperson of BitMine, warned that Bitcoin could still face a 50% retracement in the future, despite growing institutional adoption. In an interview with Anthony Pompliano, Lee said that even in the context of increased participation from spot Bitcoin ETFs and institutions, a "50% retracement" will still be part of Bitcoin's price history. Bitcoin continues to move in sync with traditional markets and tends to amplify these moves, with stocks regularly seeing 25% retracements, and if the S & P 500 falls 20%, Bitcoin could fall 40%.
Still, Lee said he remains long-term bullish, reiterating his prediction that bitcoin could climb to $200,000 to $250,000 this year.
