5月9日消息，以太坊联合创始人 Joseph Lubin 认为，美国证券交易委员会(SEC)故意阻碍创新，这威胁到了美国现有的金融格局，他说道：“美国证券交易委员会似乎已将 ETH 重新归类为证券，但没有告诉任何人事实确实如此，他们正在采取一系列战略性执法行动，而不是公开讨论和明确的规则制定，美国证券交易委员会可能不希望看到真正改变格局的创新浪潮。”
