US media: The United States has not negotiated a stake in Quantum Corporation

According to Yahoo Finance, citing people familiar with the matter, the Wall Street Journal's report that the government is in talks to buy stakes in quantum computing companies is not in line with the actual considerations of the Trump administration. The newspaper said on Thursday that a number of quantum computing companies, including IonQ, Rigetti Computing and D-Wave Quantum, are negotiating with the Commerce Department to exchange equity for federal funds, and that companies such as Quantum Computing and Atom Computing are also considering similar arrangements. Although the companies have reached out to the White House and the administration has received a large number of equity financing proposals, Trump insists on being responsible for taxpayer funds, and that any investment will use the remaining funds promised by the Trump administration to restructure the Biden version of the Chip Act. The current evaluation plan may involve warrants or loans, and is not necessarily limited to the companies mentioned in the report.
