Plasma Acquires VASP License to Expand Stablecoin Payments Business in European Union

Blockchain firm Plasma has announced a major expansion in Europe to provide regulated payment services. The company said on Thursday that it has acquired an entity in Italy with a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license, allowing it to legally process cryptocurrency transactions and custody assets in the region. As part of its European Union expansion plan, the company will open a new office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and has appointed a chief compliance officer and anti-money laundering reporting officer.
