Hong Kong-listed Moon Inc. (HKEx: 1723) raised about $8.80 million as it plans to launch bitcoin prepaid cards in Thailand and South Korea and expand across Asia, backed by a number of bitcoin miners and investors through the issuance of new shares and convertible bonds.
According to a filing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the proceeds raised will be used to support Moon Inc.'s pan-Asian expansion plans, starting with Thailand and South Korea, along with the launch of prepaid cards that support bitcoin.
The prepaid card allows users to buy, store, and transfer bitcoin without the need for complex traditional wallet settings, combining Moon Inc.'s prepaid telecommunications expertise with innovative digital asset capabilities.
