Goldman Sachs: Bank of Japan may maintain policy rate unchanged next week

In a note, economists at Goldman Sachs said the BoJ was likely to leave its policy rate unchanged next week from a risk management perspective amid high levels of uncertainty. "After assessing the high level of uncertainty in its benchmark outlook, the BoJ may judge that while downside risks to the economic outlook are significant, upside risks to the price outlook are also significant," they said. They noted that the BoJ was likely to maintain its stance of gradual rate hikes. (Jin Ten)
