On October 22nd, according to Crowdfundinsider, digital bank Revolut announced that it has received final authorization from the National Banking and Securities Commission of Mexico (CNBV) and approval from the Central Bank of Mexico to operate in Mexico as a diversified banking institution. This is the final regulatory step required before the company can open its banking services to the public.
Revolut became the first independent digital bank in Mexico to apply directly from scratch and complete the full licensing and approval process. The company is now preparing to launch its products to Mexican consumers who are already on the waiting list. As a fully regulated bank, Revolut offers a range of financial services, including deposit insurance underwritten by IPAB (the Deposit Protection Agency) for up to approximately 3.40 million Mexican pesos.
