The United States will release CPI data for September on October 24. The upcoming CPI release on Friday is in the spotlight because it is only 5 days before the Federal Reserve's interest rate meeting on October 29. In addition, during the US government shutdown, the Bureau of Labor Statistics has suspended the collection and release of all other data. There is no employment report, non-farm data, producer price index and other data release. The September CPI data will be the only reference for the Federal Reserve to make decisions on the federal interest rate. According to Polymarket data, the probability of the market betting that the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates by 25 basis points is as high as 96%.
