According to court documents, executives at Meteora, the issuer of Meme MELANIA, which was launched by Mrs. Trump in January, have been charged with organizing the token offering with knowledge of the slump. Meme MELANIA was issued at a low price of a few cents a coin on January 19, the day before Trump became president of the United States. It has since soared to $13.73, and its current price is less than one percent of its peak price.
Investors have accused Meteora executives, the initial offering platform for MELANIA, of orchestrating a plan to sell the coin for huge profits while causing the price to plunge.
