Solana's new proposal SIMD-0266 plans to launch p-token to optimize transaction efficiency by up to 98%

The Solana Foundation's latest proposal, SIMD-0266, plans to introduce p-tokens as an efficient alternative to the current SPLToken program. This optimized version reduces the Token program's compute unit usage by up to 98% through zero-heap allocation and zero-copy data access technology, and is expected to free up about 12% of block space for other transactions. The p-tokens are fully backward compatible, and users can directly replace them without modifying the code. The addition of Batch and UnwrapLamports directives further optimize common DeFi operating processes. Neodyme has completed an audit confirming that the p-tokens are consistent with the output of the existing SPLToken program. The proposal will work in tandem with other network optimization measures, such as 100MCU blocks, to jointly improve the overall performance and transaction throughput of the Solana network.
