DownDetector: Many websites around the world suddenly crashed, suspected to be related to Amazon Cloud as a Service

According to the tracking website DownDetector, several of the world's largest apps and websites are suddenly down. Snapchat, Roblox, Fortnite, Duolingo and Canva are all experiencing problems. The problems appear to be related to an issue with Amazon Web Service, which provides the infrastructure that underpins much of the modern internet. The company said on its service status page that "Amazon Cloud as a Service" was experiencing "increased error rates" and delays.
