Roman Storm asks the open-source software community if they are worried about being sued for developing the DeFi platform

Roman Storm, the developer of the Tornado Cash Privacy Shield, asked the open-source software community if they were concerned about being retroactively sued by the Department of Justice for developing a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform.
Storm asks DeFi developers: How can you be sure that you won't be charged by the DOJ with "MSB" (building unmanaged protocols), and then accused of building managed protocols? If SDNY can accuse developers of building unmanaged protocols... then what's safe?
