The UK tax authority has sent 65,000 letters to suspected cryptocurrency tax evaders

According to the Financial Times, UK tax authorities have issued 65,000 so-called "call letters" to individuals suspected of failing to pay cryptocurrency taxes, more than double the number last year.
Selling, exchanging, or spending cryptocurrencies in the UK typically generates capital gains tax, while staking rewards and airdrops are typically counted as income.
