Meme platform Four.Meme announced that it will introduce Token Name Protection to improve fairness and prevent project name confusion. The mechanism will automatically trigger protection when the token is in the binding curve stage of Fair Mode and the number of holders exceeds 100.
Once triggered, the token's name and Ticker will be locked for 72 hours, during which time new Fair Mode tokens with the same or similar name cannot be created. The system simultaneously cross-checks Free Mode and Fair Mode to ensure that the two modes cannot be named repeatedly.
Officials say the move is aimed at maintaining a cleaner and more transparent Meme authoring environment, ensuring that each project has a unique identity. The feature is still in the testing and optimization stage.
