The Swiss gaming regulator has filed a criminal complaint against FIFA following a preliminary investigation into the sale of blockchain tokens linked to World Cup tickets.
According to a statement on its website, Gespa, which also regulates lotteries and sports betting, said the FIFA Collect platform constitutes an unlicensed betting service in Switzerland and is therefore illegal. (Bloomberg)
