SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce said that tokenization is the current focus of the agency, and is studying token distribution, transaction definition and crypto asset custody, and working with Congress to develop regulations. She stressed the importance of financial privacy, and said that cryptocurrencies provide an opportunity to re-examine the Bank Secrecy Act and AML/KYC.
