According to Slow Mist analysis, the IP associated with the theft of 1155 WBTC hackers was traced to Hong Kong (using a VPN is not ruled out).
Previously, it was reported that an address was suspected to be the victim of a malicious transaction in another address phishing attack, losing 1155 WBTC, worth $71 million. The scammers have since sold all 1155 WBTC for 22,960 ETH, and used a large number of wallet addresses to send and disperse funds for money laundering.
