Trump threatens Israel to resume operations if Hamas does not abide by the ceasefire agreement

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he would consider allowing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to resume military operations in Gaza if Hamas refused to abide by the cease-fire agreement, telling CNN that Israeli forces could return to the streets "as soon as I order it," CNN reported. "The situation with Hamas will be resolved very soon," Trump said on the phone in a brief phone call. Trump's comments came as Israel accused Hamas of not complying with the agreement to hand over surviving or deceased hostages to end the Gaza conflict. That has sparked growing anger in Israel, where the authorities have told the United Nations that humanitarian aid into Gaza is expected to be curtailed or delayed because of the low number of hostages being handed over, although the fragile cease-fire has so far held.
