On May 9th, Web3 engineering, research and investment firm Three Sigma launched a new protocol, zkAuth, to integrate traditional identity systems into Web3 accounts. ZkAuth allows existing applications to integrate blockchain functionality without requiring users to create new accounts or manage private keys.
Combining the Web2 identity standard with Web3 technology, zkAuth leverages Account Abstraction (AA) to create a seamless user experience on zkSync. It relies on the OpenID Connect (OIDC) standard to validate transactions, streamlining blockchain interactions with familiar login processes such as social media accounts.
