Sony Group's banking arm has formally applied for a US National Bank licence to conduct "specific cryptocurrency-related business" through its subsidiary, Connectia Trust, which will issue US dollar stablecoins, manage corresponding reserve assets and provide digital asset custody and asset management services, according to the filing.
