He also said that Chinese officials have issued contradictory statements on the latest rare earth export restrictions. How does the Ministry of Foreign Affairs respond to this? Lin Jian said that the Chinese competent authorities have made clear their position on the rare earth export control policy. China implements export controls on relevant items in accordance with the law for the purpose of better safeguarding world peace and regional stability, and fulfilling international obligations such as non-proliferation, which is also in line with international practice. China's position is consistent and clear. Lin Jian said that while the US wants to talk, it is threatening and intimidating, imposing high tariffs and introducing new restrictions. This is not the right way to deal with China. We urge the US to correct its wrong approach as soon as possible and resolve relevant issues through dialogue and consultation on the basis of equality, respect and mutual benefit.
