Lighter said that a special bonus is being issued, a total of 250,000 points to compensate traders affected by the October 10 market crash event, the second quarter of the reward will be issued every Friday from October 17, the first award 600,000 points to cover the past 2.5 weeks of compensation.
The affected users are mainly divided into three categories, which are responsible for these issues:
Decreased trading platform performance: It happened a few hours before the market crash on October 10. During the period, traders lost a total of about 25 million US dollars, so 150,000 points were issued as compensation. In addition, clearing fees are also refunded in the form of USDC.
Market Crash: The exchange system was operating normally at the time, but LLP holders lost about 5%. Although the system performed normally, we are still partially responsible because some LLP participants did not understand the mechanism by which LLPs provide liquidity and, if necessary, serve as a source of last resort. The operation of LLPs has been clarified through in-depth analysis, and LLP holders are compensated with 25,000 points.
Database failure after market calm: 5 hours after the market crash, the database used for sequencers malfunctioned (as detailed in the October 12 incident report), and Lighter was out of service for 4.5 hours. During this period, the market was not volatile, and the total trader lost $7 million. The compensation for this period is 75,000 points, and the clearing fee is also refunded in USDC.
