Analysis: The 127,000 BTC sought by the US government for confiscation originated from the Lubian mining business and was stolen as early as 2020

On October 14th, DB published an update saying that the 127,271 bitcoins (about $14 billion) that the US government seeks to confiscate actually came from the Lubian mining operation operated by defendant CHEN ZHI, and were actually stolen in 2020. These bitcoins have been idle since then. Unless there is some kind of fake hacking incident, they are likely to not get these coins.
