The approximately $200,000 cryptocurrency (30,644 BNB) that Binance donated to a Maltese cancer charity in 2018 is now worth approximately $37 million due to market price increases, but the funds have not yet been claimed. According to reports, a dispute between Binance and the Malta Community Foundation (MCCF) over the verification of patient information led to a deadlock in the transfer of funds. Binance insisted on transferring the donations directly to the end beneficiaries to ensure transparency, while the MCCF refused to provide the patient information requested by Binance. No further progress has been made since the two sides discussed a solution in 2021.
