HSBC: Dollar may weaken again, expected to bottom early next year

HSBC believes that the dollar is likely to weaken again. Paul Merkel, head of global foreign exchange research at HSBC, points out in a note that when the Federal Reserve resumes its easing cycle and the US economy avoids recession, history suggests that the dollar will weaken.
