Shanghai: Accelerate the cultivation of silicon photonics, 6G, fourth-generation semiconductors, brain-like intelligence and other industries

On October 11th, Shanghai held a municipal government press conference to introduce the latest "Measures to Accelerate the Promotion of Frontier Technology Innovation and Future Industry Cultivation". Qu Wei, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission, revealed at the press conference that Shanghai focuses on the six major directions of future manufacturing, future information, future materials, future energy, future space, and future health, divided into three levels: near, medium, and far, with rational planning, layered promotion, and precise cultivation. Specifically, it includes: developing and expanding the fields of cell and gene therapy, brain-computer interface, biofabrication, and embodied intelligence, with a focus on supporting cost reduction, accessibility, and building an industrial ecosystem; accelerating the cultivation of silicon photonics, 6G, fourth-generation semiconductors, and brain-like intelligence, with a focus on optimizing product design, expanding application scenarios, and verifying market value; accelerating the layout of frontier fields such as quantum technology, controllable nuclear fusion, and regenerative medicine, with a focus on supporting technical problems, technical route convergence, and product feasibility verification.
