On October 11, the G20 Trade and Investment Ministerial Meeting was held in Gebeha, South Africa. Li Chenggang, International Trade Negotiator and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Li Chenggang pointed out that China firmly supports multilateralism, puts forward global governance initiatives, and declares that it will not seek new special and differential treatment in the current and future negotiations of the WTO, and demonstrates the responsibility of a responsible developing country with practical actions. The G20 has made important contributions to the development of global trade and investment. It should give better play to the role of the G20 trade and investment mechanism to deal with current global challenges through open cooperation. Li Chenggang said that while promoting its own development, China actively contributes to global economic growth. All parties should support the multilateral trading system and free trade, respond to the challenges of unilateralism and protectionism, refrain from using trade restrictions, remove green trade barriers, and give full play to their respective comparative advantages to jointly support developing countries, so as to provide impetus for green industrialization and sustainable development.
