A group of banks including Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and Citi are exploring the issuance of stablecoins pegged to major G7 currencies (USD, EUR, JPY, etc.). The project aims to issue 1:1 reserve-backed digital currencies that provide stable payment assets on the public chain, while following regulatory requirements and best risk management practices. The bank said the move is aimed at exploring the market competitive advantages offered by digital assets, but has not announced a specific timeline.
