Copper prices are expected to remain in the range of $10,000 - 11,000 per tonne in 2026/2027, Goldman Sachs said in a report on Friday. The bank added that profit margins for Indonesian nickel producers need to fall further to limit supply growth and reverse the ongoing market glut, predicting a 6 per cent decline in nickel prices to $14,500 per tonne by December 2026. Goldman expects a surplus in the aluminium market as Indonesian supply increases from mid-2026. Aluminium prices are expected to fall to $2,350 per tonne in the fourth quarter of 2026 and will not return to current levels until 2030.
