MIIT and other three departments issued an announcement on adjusting the technical requirements for energy-saving and new energy vehicle products that enjoy vehicle and vessel tax incentives

MIIT and other three departments have updated the fuel consumption limit standards for energy-saving passenger vehicles, energy-saving light commercial vehicles, and energy-saving heavy commercial vehicles in the comprehensive working conditions mentioned in Items (1) and (2) of Article 1 of Finance and Taxation [2018] No. 74, and adjusted the technical requirements for new energy vehicle products involved in Item (2) of Article 2 of Finance and Taxation [2018] No. 74. This announcement will come into effect on January 1, 2026. Announcement No. 10 of 2024 of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance, and the State Administration of Taxation will be repealed at the same time. If an enterprise completes the application before January 1, 2026, the relevant technical requirements will continue to be implemented in accordance with the provisions of Finance and Taxation [2018] No. 74 and Announcement No. 10 of 2024. From January 1, 2026 (inclusive), the technical requirements for new energy-saving and new energy vehicle models that apply for preferential vehicle and vessel tax policies will be implemented in accordance with the provisions of this announcement, and those that meet the conditions will be included in the new "Catalogue of Energy-saving and New Energy Vehicle Models Enjoying Vehicle and Vessel Tax Reductions and Reductions". The new "Catalogue" starts from the 82nd batch.
