Tom Lee, co-founder of Fundstrat and chairperson of ethereum treasury company BitMine, said that prediction markets are not only "financial entertainment", but also an important tool to reveal the "wisdom of crowds". He pointed to the 2024 US election as an example, pointing to Polymarket's accurate prediction of Trump's victory as a testament to the seriousness and practicality of such markets. Lee predicted that when prediction markets are combined with tokenized stocks and real-world assets (RWA), they will create "alchemy" to make the financial system more liquid and easy to raise capital.
