According to market sources, Citi Ventures has invested in stablecoin infrastructure startup BVNK for an undisclosed amount.
BVNK offers a stablecoin payment track that supports two-way settlement of fiat and crypto assets; co-founder Chris Harmse said the company's valuation is higher than the previous public round of $750 million. Its US market is the fastest growing, driven by the US stablecoin regulation law GENIUS Act. Citi is evaluating the issuance of its own stablecoin and expanding crypto custody. Over the past 12 months, stablecoin transactions have reached nearly $9 trillion (Visa) and the total market capitalization has exceeded $300 billion (CoinMarketCap). BVNK is also supported by Coinbase and Tiger Global.
