US stocks close: Nasdaq and S & P 500 index hit new closing highs

U.S. stocks closed Wednesday, the Dow fell slightly, the S & P 500 rose 0.58%, the Nasdaq rose 1.1%, the latter two hit new closing highs. AMD (AMD. O) rose 11.3%, a record high, the total market value of more than $380 billion. NVIDIA (NVDA. O) rose 2.2%.
