Fed meeting notes will highlight differences between hawks and doves

The Federal Reserve decided at its September meeting to cut the base rate by 25 basis points to the 4% -4.25% range, but Fed Governor Milan favored a 50 basis point cut. TD Securities analysts believe the Fed meeting notes will highlight the divide between hawks and doves within the committee. They said: "Most attendees are likely to see a policy adjustment as necessary. However, we expect some attendees to believe that further easing is unlikely this year given the risk of tariff-driven inflation. Many attendees may expect further easing due to labour market risks."
