Bitcoin Life Insurance Firm Among Us Completes $82 million Funding

On October 7th, according to Bloomberg, among us, a bitcoin life insurance company, completed a $82 million financing, with participation from Apollo, Northwestern Mutual, Pantera Capital and Stillmark, Bain Capital and Haun Ventures. The company will use the funds to expand the team's capabilities to meet the growing demand for bitcoin insurance products.
Among Us, a Bermuda-regulated insurer offering fully cryptocurrency-denominated products, began offering policies in 2023. The company invests in policyholders' insurance premiums by lending bitcoin to a large regulated Financial Institutions Group. Among Us closed a $40 million Series A round in April, led by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
