At about 5:45 pm Beijing time on October 7, the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics was announced. American scientists John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret, and John M. Martinis were awarded the prize for their "discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunneling and the quantization of energy in circuits." Among them, the Google team led by John Martinis announced in 2019 that it had achieved "quantum supremacy" and developed the "Sycamore" quantum processor. It is worth noting that members of the Google DeepMind team in 2024 have already won the Nobel Prize. And John Martinis is no longer working at Google. The individual Nobel Prize in 2025 is 11 million Swedish kronor, the same as in 2024, which is 8.34526 million yuan.
