US stocks close: Nasdaq hits new high AMD jumps 23%

U.S. stocks closed Monday with the Dow initially down 0.14 percent, the S & P 500 up 0.36 percent and the Nasdaq up 0.7 percent, both of which set new closing highs. NVIDIA (NVDA. O) fell 1 percent, Tesla (TSLA. O) rose more than 5 percent and AMD (AMD. O) rose 23.7 percent. The Nasdaq China Gold Dragon closed up 1 percent, NIU (NIU. O) rose more than 20 percent and Baidu (BIDU. O) rose 2 percent. (Jin Ten)
