Alex Blania, CEO of Tools For Humanity, the company behind Worldcoin, recently traveled to Argentina to meet with senior officials of President Milei's administration. According to local media reports, Blania met with close aides of President Javier Milei, including Demian Reidel, who has chaired the Argentine President's Council of Economic Advisers since March 2024, to clarify the goals of Worldcoin, which local regulators believe violates the rights of Argentine citizens.
At present, Worldcoin is facing a preliminary investigation by Argentina's data auditor, the Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP), and has been sued by the province of Buenos Aires for allegedly violating the legal rights of citizens. However, the company has denied all wrongdoing, saying it has answered all inquiries from the regional government, and the allegations are still to be confirmed.
