MetaMask said it would launch an on-chain rewards programme "in the next few weeks". The programme "will offer referral rewards, mUSD incentives, exclusive partner rewards, token usage rights and more" and will issue "LINEA token rewards over $30 million" in Quarter 1.
"Long-term MetaMask users will not be ignored - they will receive special benefits and MetaMask rewards will be meaningfully linked to future MetaMask tokens," MetaMask wrote in the announcement. MetaMask also said the scheme was "not a mining game" but "a real way to give back to the community on a regular basis".
It is currently unknown whether users in certain jurisdictions will be restricted from participating in the program, and whether MetaMask will take any anti-Sybil measures.
