James Lavish, managing partner of the Bitcoin Opportunity Fund, says that when institutions start buying bitcoin, they are not as price sensitive as you and I are. They just look at their portfolio and decide on allocations, then hand the order to the trader and say "go long" (with volume) buy whatever you want.
These purchases range from a mere one million to hundreds of millions, allowing bitcoin to enter new price phases with ample demand. "As demand looks for volume, volume looks for price. Whatever that price is," Lavish concludes.
