A Portuguese man has been arrested in Bangkok, Thailand, on suspicion of masterminding cryptocurrency and credit card fraud worth 580 million dollars (500 million euros).
Khaosod, an English-language Thai newspaper, identified the man as Pedro M., 39, who was first spotted in a luxury shopping mall by a Portuguese journalist on vacation in Bangkok. Khaosod did not identify Pedro by his last name, but his profile and photo match that of Pedro Mourato, who is well known in Portuguese media.
