The US stock market is leading investors to a one-way rally, with the S & P 500 index having avoided a 5 per cent correction for 114 consecutive days. At press time, S & P 500 futures and Nasdaq 100 futures were both up 0.3 per cent, and if the trend continues, the two indices are on track to record their longest consecutive gains since July. Michael Hartnett, strategist at Bank of America, said one investment strategy to counter the artificial intelligence boom is the "barbell strategy" - balancing extreme valuation differences by combining cheap cyclical assets with overvalued technology assets. Among the positive factors driving market enthusiasm this week are: Global Infrastructure Partners is in advanced talks to acquire the Aligned data center, and OpenAI continues to announce new partnerships. PitchBook data shows that this year, venture capital institutions have invested $192.70 billion in artificial intelligence startups, setting a global record.
