Former CFTC chairperson: White House is considering multiple candidates for CFTC positions

According to the law, the committee should have five commissioners, and the policy under the single-person decision-making mechanism is prone to legal challenges. The main contender for the chairpersonship is Mike Selig, now the SEC's senior crypto policy official, according to people familiar with the matter. All nominees need Senate approval to take office - Quintenz was stranded in the confirmation process after Gemini chief executive Tyler Winklevoss publicly objected.
