US broker-dealer Alpaca has launched the Instant Tokenization Network (ITN), which allows institutions to directly mint and redeem tokenized US stocks, helping to increase on-chain liquidity in areas of the tokenized market that are still constrained by structural barriers.
Alpaca disclosed on Wednesday that ITN enables institutional investors to tokenise portfolios with a single API call and exchange physical tokens for underlying shares without settlement delays. The service operates outside of traditional market trading hours and is available 24/7.
